Campus Watch was born out of the urgent and unfortunate need for better college campus security. Our founders noticed an alarming increase in sexual assaults, mass shootings, and general feelings of unrest at universities around the US; including at their own alma mater, the University of Texas. Out of genuine concern for student safety, the pair made it their personal mission to solve the problem - and Campus Watch was the result. Let’s learn a little more about them!
The first half of our visionary duo, Alfredo, thrives on versatility. He honed his startup chops as an advisor and investor in crowdsourcing platform Newchip and founding partner of Lenzo Digital. He’s also a seasoned franchisee, previously helping manage 15-20 McDonald’s locations and 2 Freshiis in Austin. As CEO, Alfredo is directly responsible for high level project management, business development, and our fundraising efforts.
Completing the second half of the visionary duo is Paolo. Lenzo Digital and video challenge app Mettle are just two of the many successful startups that Paolo has co-founded - with the latter eclipsing 17,000 unique users. Before these ventures, he served as VP of Business Development for Wallace Innovations, an app/UI/UX company. Paolo heads up day-to-day operations and our partnership efforts with security dealers across the state.
Dan has over 6 years in working with start ups in the Austin area. He went from finance to programming to entrepreneur. When he's not busy working, Dan likes to go climbing at a local crag or out at music venue.
Sean is a motivated iOS Developer with experience writing and scaling iOS applications for the eCommerce, health and banking industries. After graduating from a start up based in San Francisco, Sean found his home here at Campus Watch. When he’s not coding, Sean likes to go sailing, play music with his band or go SUP boarding down on Lady Bird Lake.
Born and raised in Texas, Sam comes from a background in finance but found his true passion in app development after graduating from General Assembly in Austin, Texas. When he's not working you'll find him out on the town or exploring the wide world with his beautiful wife.
Gary is Embark Veterinary’s Interim COO. Gary has a twenty-year history of leading from the edge, helping commercialize and launch industry firsts with Internet pioneers SPRY, Netscape Communications, Vignette, Amazon and USinternetworking, contributing to the creation of over $300B in shareholder value. Gary has served as founding employee of USinternetworking, the first pure-play Internet ASP and pioneer of the SaaS movement. He was the founding CEO of eTelligens, an MSP and CEO of Hy9 Corporation, a leader in developing fuel cell related technologies. Prior to his technology career, Gary was a commercial pilot and honorably served with the US Army, Special Operations Command. He has a BS from College of Charleston, and a PMD from Harvard Business School with executive education from Wharton and HBS.
Cara has over a decade of public relations experience with expertise in strategic planning and execution of communications programs for an array of lifestyle consumer brands and businesses. Cara began her public relations career in Chicago and New York at award-winning public relations agencies working on national consumer brands in the food, beauty and lifestyle space. After living in Manhattan, she decided to take some time to explore a freelance career and satisfy a personal desire to travel and explore other countries and cultures around the world. During this time, she traveled to more than 15 countries and lived abroad in South America, engaging with people and products on a global scale. Following this life-changing experience, Cara relocated to Austin, TX. In Fall 2016, Austin Way Magazine, named Cara on “The List” -a who’s who of prominent Austin-based community leaders, business executives, athletes and celebrities. Cara Caulkins Communications merges her personal passion for travel and wellness with her professional interests in supporting great brands that encourage others to look, feel and live the best version of themselves.
A.J. Bingham, Founder and Principal of the Bingham Group, has nearly a decade of experience representing private and public sector clients at the municipal and state level in Texas. His practice includes government affairs, public affairs, and procurement. He most recently served as Director of Government Affairs for the Real Estate Council of Austin, one of the most active business associations in the region. He previously worked at a leading Texas government procurement firm as a consultant for medium to Global Fortune 500 companies. A.J also serves on the boards of the Young Men's Business League of Austin, Austin Trail of Lights Foundation, and the Long Center for the Performing Arts
Fred del Barrio is a business owner and entrepreneur in the Rio Grande Valley of Texas. He is a McDonald’s franchisee with over 30 years of involvement in the industry. He currently serves on OPNAD, McDonald’s national advertising committee and is the regional representative for McDonald’s Hispanic Operators Association. He is also Dealer Principal of F&T Valley Motor Sports in Pharr, Texas which consistently ranks as a national Top 10 dealer for Suzuki, Can-Am and Sea-Doo and leads the area in market share for ATV and utility vehicle sales. He is also very active in his community, currently serving as president of the Rotary Club of McAllen and a multiple Paul Harris Fellow for his multiple contributions to the Rotary Foundation.
